Your Favorite Hero in Lego Form

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy’s entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.

Of course, pop culture’s most iconic archaeologist will whip through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the best-selling LEGO Star Wars games.

I had Lego Star Wars and loved it. I was anticipating a great game with Lego Indiana Jones. The levels are difficult, and I end up loading my computer and connecting to the internet for an online walkthrough, to find how just how to get through the level. This is after spending 30 minutes in the same room, have destroyed everything and still can’t find the way out. Compared to Lego Star Wars where I only used the walkthroughs to find the super hidden stuff, I’m using it at almost every juncture in this game. It leaves me frustrated to no end, and very disappointed at the game. What’s worse is that sometimes, even though I’ve done things correctly (again, having to go step-by-step through a walkthrough) the game doesn’t recognize it, and I have to start the unending level again. Another thing, is that the levels seem to go on forever. You make it to a cut-scene thinking “Oh I finished the level!” WRONG! And there are some areas where you must have two people to manage the characters. I’ve had to get my 2nd wand and nunchuck out to control the 2nd character who’s off doing whatever when I need them to do something. And of course just swapping characters doesn’t work either b/c then the first character figures it’s break time, and jumps off the platform I just spent 20 minutes trying to get him to. I spend half my time playing this game searching for how to complete the level on EVERY level, compared to on Star Wars Complete sage (36 levels), I maybe had to do that once or twice. Overall, I’m very disappointing with this product.

The Lego games are all really cute, but it lacks something. You can get stuck in a level after all the bad guys are dead, and there are no “hints” or directions to what you have to do to exit the level, and of course if you don’t figure it out,and stop the game ,you must repeat the level and cannot continue until you DO figure out the last requirement in that level. Both my son and husband gave up,and haven’t played it again.I noticed this is the problem in the other Lego series games as well.

I loved the lego re-inactments. Very amusing. But I’ve played SOOO many games that require you to solve puzzles (tomb-raider, prince of persia, etc.) This I just classified as one of those, albeit it was by far one of the funniest, cute, and most amusing puzzle games by far. I though 1 star would be too harsh. It’s a cute game, but really boring.

This game is okay as far as the Lego series go. The Star Wars Lego series is better, in my opinion. I suppose if you have not played the Star Wars Lego games, this game will be more interesting and new. However, it is pretty much more of the same and gets boring rather quickly.
