Snap has passed 30 million paid Snapchat+ subscribers, according to its third-quarter 2026 earnings release on Wednesday. The total is up by 5 million since February, when the company said it had crossed 25 million. Snap said paid subscribers span Snapchat+, Memories Storage, and Lens+.
Snapchat+ launched in 2022 and gives subscribers exclusive and pre-release features for $3.99 per month. Snap later added more paid tiers beyond the core subscription to widen its revenue streams. Lens+ costs $8.99 per month and unlocks exclusive Lenses and AR experiences, while Snapchat+ Platinum costs $15.99 per month and includes an ad-free experience.
Memory storage limits tied to paid plans arrived a year after Snapchat announced a controversial cap on free storage for its Memories feature. At that point, users were told they would need to pay $1.99 per month for extra storage or subscribe to Snapchat+ to keep their Memories. The milestone also comes as Snap continues to push premium products tied to new creative features.
Evan Spiegel, Snap’s CEO, said in a letter to investors that AI-powered features helped Lens+ perform better than expected. He said paid subscribers still make up a small share of the company’s monthly community, and that leaves room for growth through broader adoption and new premium experiences. The same letter said daily engagement has historically stayed stable as a share of monthly engagement, but the company does not plan to optimize Snapchat for daily use at the expense of long-term value for its community.
Snap also reported 495 million daily active users for the quarter, up from 493 million in the previous quarter, but below analysts’ expectation of 499 million. Spiegel said advertising revenue growth remains below the company’s target, and Snap plans to focus on improving advertiser performance and expanding the ways businesses can reach users.
